Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care Has Increased Access & Improved Quality of Care for Veterans in KS

Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care Receives Partner Level Four From We Honor Veterans

Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care is a community based organization dedicated to palliative and hospice care, and focused on exceeding patients’ individual medical, emotional and spiritual needs. They are thrilled to announce they have received partner level four, the highest distinction, with the We Honor Veterans Community Partner program. We Honor Veterans partners are able to recognize the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families as well as accompany and guide Veterans through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.

“Our team members are end-of-life experts who have received education and training on identifying, assessing and meeting the needs of Veterans and their families from the time of referral through bereavement services. Many thanks to our coordinator, Jamie Cox, for ensuring we continued to grow in our efforts to reach and serve more veterans,” said Phillip Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care.

The We Honor Veterans Community Partner program has four levels of distinction based on an organizations’ involvement and activities. The goal of accomplishing these levels is to provide the best quality of care to those who have served the country. Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care partners with the Veterans Administration, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), other local organizations and participates in local events to serve the nation’s hero’s in their time of need. They have created Veteran-specific educational material and presentations to staff, volunteers and the community.

“As a veteran, I am completely humbled and grateful for all of our teams dedication and hard work for veterans,” said Jamie Cox, We Honor Veterans Coordinator.

Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care has a commitment for improving care for Veterans. In cases where there may be specific needs related to the Veteran’s military service, combat experience or other traumatic events, Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care has the tools to help support those they are caring for. Veterans have served to provide security for our country and Kansas Palliative & Hospice Care believes they should be served in their time of need in a way that recognizes, honors and responds to the unique needs of the Veteran and their family.
