Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care Proudly Promotes Heather Hinson, RN

Heather Hinson, RN, was promoted to Regional Patient Services Manager (RPSM) on March 1, 2023. Hinson joined the Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care (OPHC) in 2014 as the Patient Care Coordinator. She advanced to Regional Patient Services Manager in 2021, adding the Colorado offices to her responsibilities. As RPSM, Hinson governs the intake and initial patient experience for all HospiceServe agencies. Additionally, she analyzes and evaluates current processes for efficiency, revising and improving them, as necessary.

“I am proud to announce the promotion of Heather to Regional Patient Services Manager. Heather’s experience and skills have been invaluable to our patients and our company. We look forward to working with her as she joins the HospiceServe team in this unique role,” said Janet Rogers, RN, BSN Chief Nursing Officer.

Currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Southwestern State University (2024 completion), Hinson earned her nursing degrees – registered nurse (RN) from Oklahoma City Community College and licensed practical nurse (LPN) from Platte College in 2022 and 2010, respectively. Since 2010, Hinson has worked in hospice, progressing from the position of field LPN to managing patient intake for all Oklahoma offices at a previous company. She initially became interested in hospice due to a personal experience with a family member who was receiving hospice. After witnessing the exceptional and personalized care, “I knew hospice was where I needed to be. Hospice is my calling, and I cannot imagine working in any other field of nursing,” said Hinson.

“It is an honor to be given such an incredible opportunity to move into this new Regional Patient Services Manager role. I have been given the opportunity to help develop new and strengthen current processes to serve more patients who need hospice. I am humbled and excited to join a team that shares my desire and passion for hospice and hospice patients,” said Hinson.
